Indians are expected to buy around 100 million handsets in 2011, out of which 10% will opt for smartphones, a doubling from 2010 figures. Although Symbian is still ruling the roost for Nokia in India, Android is catching up fast. According to Cyber Media Research, Google's Android has emerged as a new hot favorite and will take over 12% of the Indian smartphone market. It will also grab a big slice of the tablet PC market in India, which is estimated to account for 100,000 tablet sales in 2011.
